Di Hiini is one of the top halfbacks in the country and already had an impressive career before joining Matatū in the inaugural 2022 year. Hiini took centre stage for the 2023 Aupiki season, wearing the 9 jersey for every game and providing pinpoint distribution for the eventual champions Matatū.

After Aupiki 2023, Hiini hopped over the ditch and represented the Queensland Reds in Super W where they made the final, her second in a few short months.

Hiini’s performances earned her selection in the Black Ferns XV, where she wore the 9 jersey against Manusina alongside 8 other athletes from Matatū’s 2023 Championship winning side.
