The Head Physio role will provide best practice physiotherapy services to the Matatū Super Rugby team and ensure that the risk of injury is minimised so that recovery and rehabilitation are maximised. 

 The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' post graduate experience, ideally working in high performance sport or in a national level team lead physiotherapist role. Although experience in rugby and working with females is preferable, this is not a prerequisite. We will be seeking candidates that cover the following:

• Be a New Zealand registered physiotherapist 

• ICIR course not necessary and will be provided if needed

• Be able to communicate effectively with elite athletes of all ages

• Have a good knowledge of Strength and Conditioning programmes 

• Have previous experience working with sporting organisations or teams, including leading physio services on match days

• Have strong administrative and organisational skills

• Have the ability to assume some management responsibilities when travelling with the team

• Strong communication skills to coaches and team management to communicate player’s injury status and prognosis, with special reference to availability for training and play

• Excellent ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team and share responsibility for player development and programme management
