Laura Bayfield is a newcomer to Aupiki after an outstanding season for Canterbury in the 2023 Farah Palmer Cup, along with being named in the first ever Black Ferns XV squad.

Laura is characterised by her fitness levels, attention to detail, and her insurmountable work ethic - qualities that also make her a fantastic asset for the New Zealand Defence Force, where she is a Captain in the Army.

Laura quickly became a standout for Matatū in her first season, starting all 6 competition games in the 5 jersey and combining well with Emma Dermody and Alana Bremner at different times throughout the season.
