Team Named: Round 4 v Hurricanes Poua

Matatū are on the road again this weekend as they face Hurricanes Poua in Upper Hutt on Saturday 22 March at 2.05pm.

After their first defeat of the 2025 season against NIB Blues Women, the team are hungry for a good performance.

Pip Love is inserted back into the front row this week alongside Georgia Ponsonby and Amy Rule, and the remainder of the forward pack remains unchanged.

Laura Bayfield and Chelsea Bremner will again be paired at lock, while Captain Alana Bremner will start at blindside, with Lucy Jenkins solidifying her place at openside.

Kaipo Olsen-Baker will retain the number 8 jersey.

The only change in the backline this week is on the wings – Fia Laikong is back on the left wing, with support from her sister Winnie Palamo on the right.

Maia Joseph and Hannah King will again form the number 9 and 10 combination, with Grace Brooker and Amy du Plessis in at centre.

Kaea Nepia will remain at fullback to round out the backline.
