Moomooga Ona Palu

Palu just recently made the journey from Hawkes Bay to Canterbury last year after a successful few seasons with Hawkes Bay Tui side. Since being here, Ona has made quite the impression. Following a dominant club season up north and in Christchurch, Palu joined the Canterbury FPC squad where she was part of another championship for the Canterbury side.

2023 was Ona's second year in Matatū colours where she once again provided dominant impact from off the bench.

Ona also plays an important role in Matatū's pre-game routine, arranging our players' hair into stunning braids before each match.

After the successful 2023 season, Palu was rewarded with selection into the Black Ferns XV to play Manusina, in what was her first appearance in a black jersey.

Palu had another fantastic season in 2024 for Matatū and continues to develop into a player of note on the New Zealand domestic scene.
